Social media site Reddit is reportedly testing a feature for users to set up NFT avatars, according to recent statements from a Reddit representative. The new feature would allow users to display their NFTs in their profile pictures.
“We’re always exploring ways to provide value for users and communities on Reddit. At the moment, we’re testing the ability to use NFTs as profile pictures (avatars) and verify ownership. It’s a small, internal test, and no decisions have been made about expanding or rolling out the capability.” Reddit spokesperson Tim Rathschmidt told TechCrunch today.
Twitter also launched the NFT profile picture feature last week. The feature rolled out on Jan. 20 is available to paid subscribers of Twitter’s Blue service to use verified NFTs as their profile pictures. The move marks the firm’s most significant push into the NFT space to date.
On the other hand, Meta is also reportedly building an NFT marketplace for users.
